What happens after I apply?

  • Once your application is received and reviewed, we will contact suitable applicants to arrange a phone interview, and then an in person meet and greet with an appropriate and available animal. At the meet and greet you will have the ability to also chat to the foster family and staff about additional day to day, routine and experience questions. Should the animal be a good fit for you and your family, there is a possibility of taking an animal home with you the day of.

  • Due to limited staff and volunteers, we may not be able to contact every applicant, especially for animals that are already pending or adopted. You are always welcome to follow up with us at 403-588-8064.

  • We are happy to discuss other animals that may be a good fit for you.

Additional adoption information:

  • We schedule one meet per available dog and one meet per applicant.

  • If you are interested in meeting multiple animals, attending an adoption event may be the best option.

  • Meets are scheduled only for animals currently available for adoption.

  • If an animal is not posted on our weekly adoption posts with photos, names, ages and a bio, they are not yet available for meets.

  • Our Facebook page is the most up to date source for adoptable animals. We post weekly.

    • Animals remain posted until officially adopted but may be pending.

  • In person meets are required for all adoptions.

  • We do NOT maintain a waiting list for animals that have not yet been posted for adoption.

  • Cats must go home in a carrier. Please bring one to your meet.

Can I just come in and check out the animals?

We are a foster home based rescue, so animals are not housed at our office. They are cared for by volunteer foster families until they are ready for adoption. This allows us to see how they integrate into a real home environment.

Our fosters bring animals to our office for scheduled meet and greets.

While we can share what we have observed in the foster home, we cannot guarantee how an animal will behave in a different environment.

All meets are by appointment only.

Do you offer temporary care for owned animals?

Unfortunately, we do not offer temporary care for owned animals in any situation, including travel, moving, health concerns, or family emergencies.

We do not operate a shelter program and are not staffed or set up for boarding.

If you are looking for temporary care, we recommend contacting local boarding facilities, kennels, pet sitters, or trusted family and friends.
